Up until October, 2011, the Friends of the Library – Brunswick Branch was part of the Friends of the Frederick County Libraries umbrella organization and were covered by their 501(c)3 designation. When that organization folded, we decided to re-organize as the Friends of the Brunswick Library, Inc. and apply for tax-exempt status.

Well, we have finally received notification from the IRS that our application as a 501(c)3 organization has been approved!

If you have donated to the Friends of the Brunswick Library and have not declared the donation on your taxes, you may be able to declare it on this year’s tax return. Consult your tax professional.
